Clara’s Daffodils
This gorgeous art nouveau inspired piece features a semi-semetrical field of daffodils talking and laughing with each other. The design was first carved by hand and then every section was meticulously filled in with glazes including bright yellow and orange, warm brown, cream, sage green, dark forest green, and avocado. But who is Clara you ask? The name pays homage to Clara Driscoll, an American designer who served as the Head of the Department of Women’s Glass Cutting for Tiffany Studios in NYC between 1900-1920. She created beautiful stained glass lamps often with botanical motifs, one of which included daffodils. I hope it brings you joy. Made with love, from me to you.
