Frequent Asked Questions
Variety is the spice of life isn't it? I think there is beauty in variety. Every piece is made entirely by hand. As a result, they will always have the charm and characteristics of being handmade and I want my pieces to feel handmade. I want you to feel the care, intention and magic I put into each handle, each brush stroke, each petal. It's much easier and cheaper to get something machine made but I think there is beauty in the effort it takes to create. So I am practicing listening to my intuition and letting my creativity and the clay tell me what it wants to be. Maybe someday I will have multiples, but only if the clay whispers it to me. It's part of the magic and what makes your piece special! Each piece is completely one-of-a-kind and I think there is something delicious about having something no on else does, something that was made for you. So I hope it brings you joy, as it brings me.
Whether something is labeled "Food Safe" or not has to do with the glazes and additional embellishments added to the pieces. If a piece is labeled as "Food Safe" it means that the glazes I used were labeled by the company (Mayco and Amaco) as "Suitable for Dinnerware" meaning the glazes are suitable for dinnerware; chemically durable, absent of surface texture, and compliant with U.S. FDA guides for ceramics CPG Sec. 545.400 and CPG Sec. 545.450." In addition to being food safe, these pieces are also dishwasher and microwave safe unless otherwise noted.
